I've been a 3d "hobby artist" on and off since sometime around 2000 or so. I've never stuck with it long enough to get good or to learn any advanced techniques, but when I do "play around" I have fun.
I also started messing around with vector drawing, as I can't really draw. Using vector allows me to utilize shape deformation and tweaking to create my scenes.
As of right now, July 2018, I'm working hard toward a goal I've had for a decade plus, and that is to make physical card, dice and board games for adults as well as animations and some simple video games. To that end, I'm developing my own characters in vector. The style is simplistic but I believe it will be really good once I have several items completed.

great idea, I remember a poster like this back in the eighties. I would only suggest working on the terrain in front of the arch, it doesn't look like the door could open or close, also you seem to have an additional light source from above that doesn't lend a realistic feel to the landscape.

DOh! I didn't notice the landscape issue. Ummm...errr.....well...you see...the door has been opened for eons and sediment build up has caused the rock formation to grow infront of the door..but..ummm..magical forces have kept the stuff from forming on the dorr itself. Yea..thats it. :) As for the light, there is an actual sun source above the planet, so it is correct..but I do see what you mean. Thanks for the comment and suggestions. :)

Very nice image. Good BS...err I mean reasoning for the built up sand on the terrain. Is there a way perhaps to "sweep" the sand in front of the door?
