Not bad, change the lighting with a lower or weaker sun. A strip of beach would be nice. Maybe drop the snow level, make the mountain top less round. Maybe use a .dem terrain for the test.

The more layers you use the better, by lowering the fractal noise the layers blend more. Play around with height constraints on the various layers. A good way is to take a surface file you like and change it around some..Your off to a good start!! Keep posting!
