Description

This started out as something completely different. I'd already made the background of clouds coming in through the wall and thought it was kind of neat, so I wanted to use it somehow. Then I remembered kamladolly [of DeviantArt]'s awesome "trite" and decided I would do a tribute to it, basically making fun of the same thing but in my own way. A screaming cauldron of hormonal zit-infested rage with the words "I HATE MYSELF BUT I LOVE ATTENTION" written across it in a really ridiculously complex font. I set out to make the most pretentious, melodramatic piece of shit image I possibly could AND FAILED. I HAVE PROVED MYSELF SO USELESS THAT I CANNOT EVEN PRODUCE SHIT OH GOD Here's what I think went wrong. When you're specifically spoofing bad art, the thing you're making cannot be both nice to look at and an effective parody. I was worried that I'd come too close to the crap I was making fun of and that the joke wouldn't be funny enough to make up for the crappiness of the image, and you'd be all like: "yes I know it's supposed to be crappy and that that's the point, but the fact is it's still fucking horrible to look at". "Trite" is as succinct and classy as it is gloriously nasty and my way just wasn't nearly as good. Maybe I'll try again later. Anyway. I thought there were some salvagable elements (the wooden doll kind of looks like he's smashing through the bricks like the kool-aid man, that happened completely by accident and I like it) so I resolved to make it a parody of surrealism instead. I actually managed to fail at that, too, so what we're left with is something sort-of self-spoofing and intentionally as weird as possible, and not that great. But I had nothing better to do tonight and you clicked on it so EAT IT UP. Humongous thanks to the photographers: Brick wall by vancanjay Wooden model by jimpetr Vine by Floox Clouds by leonbidon but he has left stock.xchng, for some reason Gritty paper texture by loompus Thanks for stopping by, if you're lucky there may be another dissapointment on the way.

It is kinda quirky but still interesting really and that wall is great with the hole just asking to have something in it.
