Description

Here is Katherine reading her favorite book before bed. I tried to get the lighting right but I don't think I did a good job. Let me know how you like it. ***Credits*** Katherine's face is by me. The book, table, chair, art frame with picture, the glasses, and the dress were all downloaded from Renderosity. Thanks to all of you who took the time to create these wonderful items and for letting others use them. The picture was rendered in Poser and then rendered in PhotoShop.

She is such a cute character and I love the combination of intense colors you put in here. Beautiful image.

What a neat character! You set a scene with a story--excellent. You'll get the lighting figured out quick, i'll bet. Though the figure is a bit stiff and startled (we surprised her?) the composition has charm and humor.

Poser lighting is a capital Bitch. I know. I think you have too many sources. Are you wanting just the lamplight? If so try one ambient light from the direction of the lamp and maybe one spotlight from the lamp source but tone down the intensity of any spotlight. You want a tinge of yellow rather than white to get that bedroom look. I like what you did at the lamp itself, though you may want to put a touch of the transparent to the shade, give it that inner glow. Tip about the stiffness: If its a portrait, straight ons are fine. If you want something less posed and more natural, turn the head slightly away from the camera, or at least the eyes. It softens the whole picture. Not to mention changing its dynamic. Hope this helps. Lord knows I wish I had someone feeding me tips when I got started. Experiment. Have fun. SHe's good. Let me know when you get the lighting where you want it.
