Description

A swimming pool in an apartment complex near me. The photo was taken at night, in the early evening with no moon. I *think* this eliminated the surface reflection glare that would normally be present from sunlight and make it possible for the rather low amplitude waves on the water's surface to be picked up so easily. There was very little breeze so the circular waves made when small bits of leaf or whatever fell into the pool were more prominent than any waves created by wind. These circular waves patterns show faint traces of a simple interference pattern, although I confess it's a bit hard to tell.

Very cool image indeed, with a bit o physics behind it ;) I occasionally shoot aquatics for architects, and this is a perfect detail shot!
