Description

Okay, before everybody starts to shoot at me..... Above picture shows Assisi, which is located in Umbria. We visited this beatiful town, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000, during our holiday in Tuscany. So this, more or less, explains the odd title for the image. On the left you'll notice the Basilica of San Francesco (St. Francis) and the friary. In fact, it is the upper church you see. And this means there also is a lower church, which indeed is to be found below upper church (what's in a name). From the lower church one can descend into the crypt. There you'll find the burial place of San Francesco. Thanks for your comments on my last upload, "Tuscany #7". Have a nice evening! Paul
