Description

I found this moth among bumble bees feeding on nectar, they use there likeness of bumble bees as a defense but there movements are more like a hummingbird than a bee. That’s what caught my attention, don’t believe I’ve ever seen one before or if I have assumed it was a bee and stayed clear, LOL. Its funny what a camera will make you do and the thing’s you suddenly see that you’ve never noticed before. Hope all as had a great and safe holiday. Thanks for viewing and for your comments.

Great shot of a neat critter. I have seen Hummingbird Moths and thought they were pretty amazing but this species is way cool, lol. Very nice composition and wonderful colors add to the already fine image. Thanks for sharing. Lee

This type of moth spieces certainly does look like hummingbirds. We also have one of a different speices in our area but they are nocturnal, making your discovery an exception. Thank you for sharing. egmont
