Description
these are in a state park near Wills Point,Texas.they were hard to photograph because there was an overcast and the leafs and webs cut out the available light but the glare from the clouds prevented exposing the sky.not to my satisfaction, but maybe you can get some idea of the size.there were many spiders of various types and so many insects caught in the web including 1000's of mosquitoes thank God.they were not as huge as the tv stations tried to say
Mrs. Lubner asked me if I was going so I dedicate these to her
yesterday's post was 3 pictures.one was a pool being drained and the water swirling down the hole.another was multiple fountains that I removed one stream for my purpose.the blue cast water was from another fountains 30 miles away from the first two.after putting together I tried Mehdi kaleidescope and the result was so weird I decided to post
thanks for viewing and any comments

Whoa, spiders always give me the creeps but these are great pics.

Holy Cow!! I can deal with a couple of spiders here and there .. but ALL those? Shivers!!! I guess the up side is that they caught all those nasty skeeters and such! Is this a normal happening down there in Texas? If not (if it made the news, then it probably is something extraordinary) do they have thoughts on why this is happening?

I was going to email you about the webs, but I figured it was in your news, too. I read about it here in Michigan. They said it was very unusual for spiders to build webs in a communal fashion here in the states. The park rangers said it gave them the creeps. They had never seen anything like it. Great shot, Richard!!!

An amazing shot!!

These look a lot like the work of a worm like we have out here. They cover the trees in these webs and it eventually kills off the trees. I sure hope it's not what you captured here. Thank you for sharing. Bunny

Cool captures and thanks for sharing them here. I don't like spiders and glad there with you there. Can see enough detail to make skin crawl. Excellent...

Incredible but I hope it doesn't catch on in the spider world as I wouldn't want to get too near as I'm not a fan of spiders at all. Amazing shots.

those is some big webs. guess that happen every year?

Fine documentation photos Richard! While I am not actualy a spider lover, I have to go for anything that gets rid of mosquitoes.

I recall that in the 19th century a souther plantation owner imported thousands of Japanese spiders so that they could spin their large cloud-like webs to adorn his estate. I wonder if this is the same breed.

ops, just imgine those webs in your face! they are so huge and impressive! and you was so clever to find a way to capture them! Excellent!

Richard, this is jaw dropping. I can see the "fabric" the web has created! I am amazed...but I don't know why... Everything's bigger in Texas! LOL Outstanding shot! And thanks for posting this for me. :-)

Wonderful work! Incredible & very interesting. :-)

OH Yes! I have seen that here too. They attack 1 tree or very few trees, though here it is not spiders, but some kinds of caterpillars. They eat the leaves on the whole tree and it looks so horrible, but next year you cant see they have been there :))) Very good and interesting shot :)))
