I can see you've got some shadows in there I'm guessing it was shot at midday. If it's possible shot it at about 4pm to get more shadow and depth on the needles and you can then saturate and contrast more as the overall image is a bit flat. I do however love the subject you've chosen, so different and delicate.

Hola queridos amigos si les interesa puse el link , donde mi fotografia es y pertenese a las Echinocactus grusonii kew. Pues la liz el centro de la misma es muy especial al tomar una fotografia de la misma . No tradusco en ingles pues esto puede ser diferente . tratare de hacer lo mejor posible.

Fine detail and a great sense of tecture. Such an unusual shot. I think people are apprehensive about taking shots of cacti because they don't inspire a sense of pleasure in us. Which I think, makes it all the more interesting. This might also look interesting in black and white...Just a thought. -M :^)
