Description
This is a modification of the armor for obiwan's space marines making it into Mark 5 "Heresy" armor. The armor was a "stop gap" armor between the Mark 4 and Mark 6 armor and is bulky, make-shift, and probably more then any other suit of armor reflects the desperate times of the Horus Heresy, hence it's name. It was widly distrupted and used by both the Loyalists and Traitor Legions.
I tried to stay as true to the design as I could in making modifications to turn a Mk7 suit into a Mk5. It took a great deal of time to get all the props into postion and it's a killer to try and load but I am happy with the end result. I think those familiar with the design will hopefully appreciate the attention to details I tried to give it.
The armor is being worn by Sons Of Horus. This is a new color scheme relfecting the latest changes in specifications given for the Sons Of Horus colors, Grey-green colored armor and black piping, symbols, etc. The orignal colors of the Legion as the "Luna Wolves" were very light grey armor and black piping. The Grey-Green color was adopted with there name change to the Sons of Horus, probably in conection to the fact the Legion was renamed following it's long champaign against a huge Space Ork force.
The Grey with yellow piping I orignally did based on intial research is now retired although it will still be available in the 40K thread at DAZ. With modifications I plan to use it for another Legion.
After continuing consultations with experts and more research, I am now working on color schemes for all the Legions loyalists and traitors for the era of the Horus Heresy and future 40k renders in my gallery will probably reflect that, several are near completion.
