The European cousin of Lee’s grasshopper :
"Albino Grasshopper"
The Grasshoppers have antennae that are almost always shorter than the body.
The most important family is Acrididae, consisting of about 10,000 species… !
Le nom « sauterelle » est réservé par les spécialistes pour certaines espèces orthoptères à antennes longues appartenant à la famille Tettigoniidae (anciennement ensifères). Dans le langage courant le nom est souvent aussi utilisé pour les espèces du sous-ordre Caelifera, qui ont des antennes courtes, mais ces derniers sont plus correctement appelés sauteriaux ou « criquets ».
