I was just demonstrating to myself that depth perception in my own sight is just as good with one eye closed as with both open. Only people that work on flat surfaces believe in binocular stereo. So then I thought that the ability to map was lost with only one eye like a pirate with a patch that cannot navigate but must follow rich treasure ships to plunder them. Naturally, this led to the idea that a dragon fly's thousand segment eye was an ultimate maker of charts. Suppose one gazed on this?
