Description

Again this was amongst the Sculpture trail at Crich Tramway Museum. The Green Man Originates from pre-Christian legend or folklore, portrayed sometimes Paternal or even fearsome and menacing. Jeffj7brj has another example of this from a previous visit, I just had to include it in my RR. collection. Certainly a Favourite from the Sculpture Trail. Thanks for viewing.

These carvings are made on the site, using fallen trees and wood brought in from outside, I know Alan has another picture of the artists work area, I'm sure he will post that a little further down the track(pun intended). This came out a lot better than I expected, it is a shame they have been left to weather like they have, a little bit of wood oil would have been kinder me thinks. Great capture Alan, its hard to believe they are carved with a chain saw. Bravo!!!!!
