Nature is so wonderful! These look like they have anti-squirrel defenses, yet I know they aren't for squirrels. Maybe to keep insects from getting to the flower should they make it threw the protective thorns? Superb photography, Nikolay, with wonderful contrast. Hugs, Suzanne
