Hi all: I started out as a painter, then switched to digital art after I saw some work in Bryce. Abandoned Bryce more or less when the Poser bug bit. I have always liked more realistic painting. I also have worked as a professional photographer and currently shoot with a Nikon SLR digital camera. What's nice is I could use all my 35 mil lenses with the digital. Happy rendering!! I'm married with two grown daughters and one grandson. Here I am on my new horse, Dylan.

During the Victorian period, uppercrust British families used to send their sons into the army as soon as they completed their education.... no question asked. Most of these "Remitance Men" were sent either to India or Africa where they did their tours of duty, awaiting the day when they would return to England. One of these "Remitance Men" Francis Dickens (son of Charles Dickens) was barely back in England when his "loving" Father informed Francis that he had secured a commision for his son with the North West Mounted Police (the for fathers of the current Mounties) and that Francis would be leaving for Canada (and Canadian winters) on the next tide..... this story considered, the rich kids of today, have it waaaay too easy! Stellar picture BTW!
