Description
After some messing around I finally got a tolerable render with imported content. It wasn't entirely painless though as I had to adjest the skin shaders for the model. I was able to apply the maps as usual but the bump mapping was to extreme so I had to reduce it, redo the eye highlights and reflection and add subsurface scattering. Haven't yet gotten to dynamic hair testing.
The only post processing was a slight touch of local contrast enhancement to sharpen the textures a bit as the final output was a touch soft.
In case anyone's interested the setup and settings are listed below:
Scene Objects
Daz Mike SR2 with HiRes Maps.
1 grey infinite plane for ground.
1 6ft x 6ft white plane angled upwards toward the face for use as a light reflector or bounce light.
Skin Shader Adjustments
Highlight – 15%
Shininess – 5%
Bump Map – 3%
Subsurface Scattering – On - Color – 128, 0, 0 - Intensity 10%
Lighting
1 Distant Light – Soft Shadows on (set to 2000 ft) – brightness set 140% - Quality Good
Atmosphere set to Realistic Sky and 112% Global Brightness.
Ambient 20% - Color 184, 222, 255
Render Settings
Full Raytracing – On
Anti Aliasing – Best – Object Accuracy .5 pixel – Shadow Accuracy 1 pixel
Filter Sharpness – 95%
Ray Depth – 8
Global Illumination
Sky Light – Intensity 50%
Indirect Light – 100%
Interpolation – On – 20%
Improved Edges – On
Light Through Transparency – On
Lighting Quality – Excellent - Accuracy - 4 Pixels
Caustics – Enabled - Intensity – 50%
