Description

The challenge in the Photography Forum was to take a disposable camera, or use your digital with EVERYTHING on "Automatic," and take 24 or 36 pictures. Get them into the computer via scanner (digital okay if you have no scanner) and do a minimum amount of postwork. Narrow it down to five images, lined up on a black or white background. The idea is to show people something about where we live. I have no scanner. Actually, I have no printer! I just got a new computer, and it isn't quite done yet. So I took my trusty Konica/Minolta DiMage Z3 and set out on an adventure. Unfortunately, I live in what is essentially a bland, boring suburb. What to shoot? All there is to do here is shop and eat. I live near a huge shopping mall, and kept thinking, "Sheesh! All we have is a mall - how dull is THAT?" They've recently added a couple new wings to the Alderwood Mall (in Lynnwood, Washington), and gussied it up some. My challenge to myself was to make the MALL look good! So here it is, folks, the Alderwood Mall. 1. Restaurant 2. Theater 3. Statue in front of a restaurant 4. Stairs at the parking garage 5. Sculpture that used to be at the mall but has since been moved to the public library. The only postwork on any of these was cropping and resizing, and of course making the collage.

You picked a beautiful day to do it, the sky in every one of the pics is a lovely blue. You certainly entered into the spirit of the challenge and I believe you came out of it with an excellent collage. I especially like the horse but every one is excellent in its own way. Bravo!!!!!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Interesting shots all of them, although I was primarily wanting to see the horse. The restaurant building the name of which I never even noticed, I was so captured by the statuary) is totally different but the statue is an exact duplicate. Very nicely captured I might add. Small world, innit? And I love the shot of the stairs. : )
