I like the warm pink/reddish tones (life) of the statute against the cold blue of the buildings... Fitting for this image since it seems to be saying in a symbolic way, man's struggle against his own desire for modernization, productivity and the price one must pay for it... I'm sure the statue was never intended for this meaning, but it does imply this to me in this particular image...

actually you're kinda right on..the statues are outside the native american musuem in lower manhattan...there are several depictions of the european conquerors [modernization] subjugating the native [& simpler(??)] people of the americas... the building in the background is home to one of those multibillion dollar corporatations...could be the nasdaq itself..so there are some interesting & subtle things all intertwined in there... thanks for the comment!
