Description

She has to fill the oil lamps.... I made everything here except the girl's body and her hair. Most of it was created in Blender, but a few simple things were created in Vue. It took about 72 hours to render on my dual processor laptop. The blueness is from Vue's raytracer giving up after going through too many layers of glass. I'm sure there must be a way to deal with this, but I don't know what it is yet....

The modeling of the vessels and lamps is really well done and I can only imagine the problems trying to render out so many objects with these materials. I thikn this scene would eat my machine alive! I actually like the blue tint of the glass as it adds a contrasting color to the scene, but that's just me! Most excellent work on this!

It turned out that the blue was due to a default reflection limit on Vue's ray tracer engine. With guidance from the kind folks at the Renderosity Vue forum I was able to set the limit to 16 instead of the default of four and a mere 256 hours later I had a image without blue.

Of course, there was no way I could wait for 256 hours, so I went on a ten day vacation in France while it rendered.

A very, very belated "Thank you!"

I made only three lamps; the only difference between them being the shape of the oil reservoirs (based on lamps that I have hoardedXXXXXcollected). Vue has a duplicate function that I used to make them many...
