Description

Hi. This is Mika...a recent houseguest from London, who's a real sweetheart. I took this with my new lens and flash that I got for my bday. Anyway, I've had this pic for about a week and simply could not figure out what I liked best, the full size or this crop...LOL I hate when that happens. I'm sooooooo bad at making decisions like this sometimes. :^( Anyhoo, thanks for any comments you may care to leave. Sorry I haven't been around all that much. Hopefully I can comment a bit now, but there's also a huuuuuuuuuuuge storm going on and the lights keep flashing on and off . 8^/ Have a great day/ evening y'all! Always, Marlene :^) PS It's a Canon 50mm 1.4 portrait lens, in case you wanna know. :^)

Best to t urn off your computer as you don't want to fry the mother board during an electrical surge. When I used to shoot fashion there were two things I was very particular about, as I find it a key problem in most fahion or just portraitures in general and that is the positiion of the eyes and the amount of eye-white in relationship to the eye and the otherside of the eye-white. The other item would be the tilting of the head, which of course does not apply here, I thought I just would mentioned it. So I would suggest having her look a little bit more towards the cameraso the ballance in percentage would be 60 - 40 % of eye-white per side. Thank you for sharing, egmont

I like the combination of makeup, clothing and red background- it really gives the feeling of a 50's starlet portrait! That prime lens you just got sure looks sharp-- I might have to look at that one too!

Excelent job Marlene, like a red lips so :pop: out of the pale face. I would like to see her nails fully, as painted red would match a lip color so well.

Fantastic contrasting effect displayed in this shot of the lovely vamp, Marlene. Black and white with a touch of red. With that alabaster skin, she doesn't even look real. Love the awesome eyes, the seductive mouth, the clothing, everything about her. Great portrait! Your photos always bring out the libido in me.

Super cool portrait Marlene!!!! She looks like she's soon to be famous, if not already, she's really got "the look"!! Hey, congratulations on your new lens, what fun you'll have!!! New toys are always fun!!!! So sorry about your weather, we're finally getting some sun, for a few days now... Take care and careful of power surges!!!!

I think that new lens and flash work pretty well. Does everyone have to be a 10 to enter and live in your house??? lol...She would make an excellent subject for that illustrative style you were doing the last couple of weeks. Superly super work Marlene... =)
