Description

"there's no Skool like the Old Skool", unless, of course, it's been torn down to make way for Condo Construction, in which case "there's no Skool...." sorry just being a little preachy. here it is, my Big 2 Oh Oh (I know most of you have passed this point and have gone completely around the curve by now, but hey). I'd like to take a moment to thank all you Rendo artists who have been so supportive over the years. a glass is raised... Salud! comments welcome, please enjoy!

My grandfather, who passed away many years ago, went back to Austria and saw the house (and was in the room) he was born in. The very same room his great grandfather was born in. His nephew was still living there. Can't do that in most places now a days. The house my parents were in, when I was born, had since burned down as a crack house. (Became a bad neighborhood.) The entire neighborhood where my kids were born is now gone. Its now a Master planned community. Only good thing about it is, they'll be gone in 2 genrations, too.

It's sad. But maybe if the kids that went there actually did schoolwork instead of drugs, they wouldn't be tearing it down. Funny how this happens quite a bit in the inner city and not the suburbs.... It's the people that are ignorant, not the companies and institutions....those are the people who went to school and actually did something with their lives. Any child that gets to go to school, no matter where, has the same chance,...just have to work a bit harder sometimes.....But still sad nonetheless....hopefully it will end one day. excellent post though! 5 stars..... -chachi

For the moment houses where I spent time are still here, but for how long. Unfortunatly I don't know about my parents house. I should ask them, now that you made me aware of this Great shot Collin

I hate to see old buildings, especially historic ones, torn down. Great shot!

Intersting perspective! The new buildings in the background, the destruction in the foreground. Well Done! You have an eye for great captures!
