That was one thing about Amanda, once she set her mind to something, she would finish it through. The first two books were written in Latin, so she flew through both of those in about five hours. The last book presented a challenge, it was written in hieroglyph. Amanda always had problems with that; she hated that centuries of people were happy with drawing pictures for writing. This one took some translation…about sixteen hours worth. Tired and full of newly discovered knowledge, she returned to the kitchen. -----“Damn, sis, you look like crap.” _”How long was I down there?”_ Looking at the wall clock; -----“About ten minutes.” _”Why did mom and dad put sooo many protections on that damn room? And the time difference it creates is nuts. I’ve been down there for at least twenty or so hours. I need something to eat, then I’m going to bed.”_ -----“Before you go, did you figure out what is in his room?” _”Yeah…but, let me sleep a bit so I can answer the questions you’re going to have.”_ Perry smiled. -----“No problem sis.” _”And for God sakes, DON’T go back in there till I can figure out how to get it out…k?”_ -----“Not a problem.” Perry, for lack of anything better to do, spent most of the day watching TV. The evidence of time passing while they were gone was quite evident from the new shows on. Where did all the good sitcoms go? How come everything is a ‘reality’ show now? Of course, that one show, House©, was really good. Main character is an asshole, but it’s good. The only time Perry got up was to go to the store. Everything in the house was empty…two years of not living somewhere will do that. Finally, about nine o’clock at night, Perry went to sleep. At about ten in the morning, Perry woke with a start. The smell of bacon and eggs filled the house. For a brief moment, he thought mom and dad were there. Sitting up, he looked around. -----“Hey sis.” _”Morning. Have a good nap?”_ -----“Don’t……you sound too much like mom….” _”Sorry.”_ Amanda sat at the kitchen table reading a book and eating breakfast. Eggs, bacon and a pile of toast filled plates on the table. The book had what appeared a sleeping dragon on the cover. Perry got up, walked over and sat down next to her. Pulling himself up a plate he took a closer look at the book. -----“What’cha readin’ that for?” _”I always wanted to see what he wrote in this thing. But I do have a couple of questions you might be able to answer.”_ -----“And I would be the best to answer…why?” _”DUH! You’ve been his best friend since birth….”_ -----“Actually, three hours after, I’m older, remember.” _”ANYWAY…Why didn’t he use his real last name? I mean, ‘Charlie J. Peters’, come on…he may as well used ‘I.P.Freely’.”_ -----“Might not have wanted you to find out it was him…and…before you ask, I have no idea where he got his information.” Amanda shook her head, folded the page she was on and set down the book. It had a picture of a sleeping dragon on the front, titled “Dragonkin”. Perry picked up a piece of bacon and started to munch on it. -----“So, what’s the news on the room?” She shook her head. _”I don’t know how the hell he did it. I just can’t figure it out. He just shouldn’t have been able to do it. Finding it should have been impossible, but catching it…God…I don’t know how.”_ -----“Oh…now that we’re clear on that I have no effing idea what you’re talking about…wanna fill the rest of us in?” _”He captured the first…the true entity of death.”_
