Description

Another one from my late night shoot with Paige, on Wednesday. For the record, I called my last one, 'After Midnight', but the reality is, that it was taken after 2am...which probably accounts for the number of haphazard, blurry pics I have from that night, lol. But when your daughter asks you to take her pic, and she's all dressed up, hard up photogs like me are never going to say no, no matter what the hour, lol. Anyway, this is a crop of a shot that is actually a bathroom mirror reflection...I was trying, in my blurry-eyed state, lol, to bounce the light from my new flash, backwards and forwards. The final result actually looked kinda good, but there was sooooo much grain in the shadows, that I thought I'd go all out grainy black and white, and do an old-fashioned Hollywood thing, so I started to play with various filters... I guess, this is one of those cases, where a pic takes on a life of it's own...It certainly didn't end up the way I thought it would, lol. But I like the results, and more importantly, so does Paige... :^) And... I also have other ideas for this pic... so, IF I can achieve what I want with it, that will be my next upload...Wish me luck folks, lol. Have a great weekend y'all! M :^) PS...For those of you that don't like Paige's makeup, that's okay. Everyone has their own taste, and I appreciate your honesty. To me, it means you think I can handle it, and that's a level of respect, all of it's own...So thank you... But I for one, think it looks really cool...so now I'm soooo gonna run with it. :^P

WooHoo the plot thickens!! Girl you are running with it now...Kinda reminds me of a comic book heroine, really classy shot here Marlene. Nice deep shadows and superb lighting on Paige. Man, "Miss Thang" has got the look down, and the tude to go with it. And to think she's asking you to shoot her....man, I gotta beg my daughter to shoot her....Ya got a gold mine here, shoot her till she blinks!! Glad you came your senses and shared this one before it got recycled. Always kewl to play with filters, the results sometime surprises us more than we expected. Hats off to Paige and of course Mom for shooting her!! I'm stealing it, so there!! Aloha~ PS..more please!!

I liked your text. I remember Paige from many posts ago. She has such a strong confidence in her beauty that exudes into the photograph. Very cool that she tries new looks. And her lips!! Move over A. Jolie!!

Have you ever seen Sin City? The stylization of your postwork is similar but actually far superior- This is an amazing work of art- very epic and dramatic!

Make-up is great. It's just the too smooth skin that bothers me a little. Other than that this is superb of sensuality and mystery

It is a superb photo Marlene, in every respect and I don't see why some of us wouldn't like Paige's makeup, as what matters most here in the mood and tone given by her face and the light that permeates the scene. For me at least, you did an excellent job here ! 5+++

Oh Sweet. I believe all the great artists burned the midnight (or 2am!) oil to master the canvas! Well done!

heehee well I don't think the make-up is exactly the go meet the preacher variety, but for just playin' around, I love it !!!...makes her look so exotic and, of course, mysterioso :o) ...wish I could get my darlin' daughter to cooperate for playin' "dress up" and letting me take her pic...I always have to do some serious arm twistin' n hog tyin' lol Ok, I'm drifitng...can't wait to see the next one, and 2 a.m. or not, this rocks Ms M !!!! Mucho Saturday Hugzzzz Mizzem2

I really like this racoon look. Paige would make anything look good. When she closes her eyes, is it all black or does she have her eyelids a different color??? 2am in the morning?? My camera wouldn't even be awake at that time. I like the b/w , but then again, Paige would look good in green and purple. I'm looking forward to what you're doing next with this picture...and the wiz will be putting something up soon 8^)

Oh wow...cool shot. And beautiful daughter you've got. Have to admit that the last shot I thought the make up was a removable mask...I'll have to go look at it again. lol. Can't wait to see what you do with this next. :)

My first thoughts were very simple, keep experimenting! In doing so we not only learn but we free ourselves of any restrictions and roadblocks. As for the make-up/mask two comments; first it works better in B/W as it is less dramatic from the rest of the face and hair. Second, I finally figured out why I am still bothered by and seeing it in B/W allowed me to see it when in colour I was distracted and put off more my the over all contrast. If I soften the eyebrow and not make it so angular as it is, it would conflict less with the makeup mask and the focus would return to the eyes. Have a great weekend. Thank you for sharing. egmont

Well, at least I know your lovely offspring was not cheated as far as female assets are concerned. Like, muy voluptuous! Now, if I was only 60 years younger. But I digress. Great filtered, virtually ethereal, mirror capture, and awesome soft light/shadow effects, my dear! Also like the lighting of the hair, the moist sensuous lips and the bandit's mask.
