Description
Haven't had a chance to do much artwork lately, but I thought I would post the piece I did for the Writers (and Illustrators) of the Future. I didn't win the grand prize, but the three days of workshop, the award ceremony and the field trip to JPL were all very cool. So cool that I'm working on short stories, so I can go back another time as a Writer.
All of the illustrators and writers, winners and workshop leaders, were very cool. And at the barbeque the night before the awards ceremony I managed to get Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle to sign my thirty year old dogged-eared copy of The Mote in Gods Eye . Very cool.
So this picture didn't win, but I did get another $125 for having it published in Writers of the Future Volume XXIII (now available in your local bookstore). This picture is on page 390.
No story to go with this picture. I wrote it for Ed Sevcik's story. So if you want a story, read the book. (And no, I don't get any royalties).
And I definitely encourage anyone who's eligible to enter the contest. It's worth it and nobody tried to give me a free personality test.
