Description

Chevrolet made 300 Corvettes in 1953. It was the first year they were made, and they were all white with a red and white interior. I took some liberties with the paint, wheels and interior - But if I had one to restore, this is how I might do it.

The thing that surprises me is the outside door handles. Why put door handles on it after you left out the grille surround? Your version does have that half way to Jaguar look of some of the design exercises. A bit Ghia. I only say that because in 1953 I did not know any of the design houses in Europe. The two toy ones I had were an Allard and a Corvette. Both were an existential blue and had very flashy vacuum aluminum coated clear bumper and trim pieces of a bit crude appearance. The ether glue did not really bond very well to the slippery plate and they kept falling apart.
