Description

"They see everything. I never really cared much for the trees until you took me to the grove. I remember how they watched us, how their leaves fluttered though there was no wind. I laughed. You laughed and took me into your arms. Surprised, I embraced you in return and tasted the spark of an unexpected (though desired) kiss. Now you are gone. We were supposed to meet again in the shadow of the eldest tree, but you never showed up. Now, I go to the Grove and listen to the trees when there is no wind. In the rustling of their leaves, I can hear your name. I watch their spiked eye-fruits as they watch me and I know that they miss you as much as I do. Please- -come back if not for me, then for the trees." *** The image came from a dream I had last night and the prose is now a part of a short story in progress. I was obsessed with this image and the story behind it and I hope to finish the story soon. *** As always, thank you for viewing and for commenting.
