I find the deterioration my focus. The walls are so pock-marked, weather and age-worn while the window seems to have kept it's youthful appearance. A fantastic shot.

aha, so haben sie also in heidelberg gewohnt, war in der kunst ne schwere zeit sozusagen alles im umbruch! allerdings schön zu sehen, die letzten reste vermutlich einer burg und nicht immer diese kirchen, die übrigens mehr erhalten blieben aus dem mittelalter, ja warum wohl?! habe nix gegen kirchen, nur gegen diesen machtapperat, der uns für dumm verkaufen will, ähem! lg. lordlotte

Masterfully captured at a superb POV. Extremely well done here in terms of capturing the texture as well as the mood and atmosphere. Lovely reflections and work with lighting. A clear and sharp focus to bring out the beautiful (yet run down) architecture. I always find fascination in these kind of ruins... so much history and this photograph is just seeping with stories to tell. An absolutely amazing and awesome image.. thank you so much for sharing this with us. I just have this urge to know and see more.....5++
