A meeting of juvenile Firebugs (Pyrrhocoris apterus) These bugs pass indeed through various stages :

superb macro but ick. I would have first sprayed them with bug spray and THEN thought about photographing them... Oh, well, that's why I'm not much of a bug-macro photographer, I guess.
