Description

"One of Georgia's lesser known waterfalls is Helton Creek Falls, near Blood Mountain. I don't know why. It is easily accessible by a very passable gravel road, and the falls are very close to the parking area. ...Helton Creek Falls is on Helton Creek Road, off U.S. 19 about a mile South of Vogel State Park." -- NorthGeorgiaPhotos.com This is the upper section of the falls. There is often more water flowing through here, but my vacation days did not include the period after the two-day rain that fell after I took this. :-( Still, a beautiful sight...

I think a large volume of water is an over-rated characteristic in waterfall shots. I much prefer to see a smaller amount of water, just enough to show the path it takes. This leaves the underlying structure visually available. I can easily imagine more water, but it's difficult to know what's underneath! Translation: Oooooohh! Pretty! :) I've been watching your avatar for a while now, and quite frankly, I'm exhausted. I may need to go take a nap! LOL!
