Description
A quick look at my gallery will reveal that I am not an animal photographer. However, every now and then I get a chance to pretend that I am. Doing a shoot on Galveston Island, I looked out into the distance and saw this crane (?). He was quite far away, so I changed to my 200mm zoom lens and captured him strutting across the wetland. Not a National Geographic quality photo, but I like it anyway.

Very good capture. I always find scenes like this so settling and calm. I do have one silly question.... If this is a wet land bird how come only his legs are wet?

Great capture Rog. Ironically we see them here in Arizona and Southern California too. Along the irrigation ditches of flooded fields!
