Description

I originally intended to create sort of a busy, space dock environment, but after getting the basic structure lit, I wanted it to look a little more deserted... maybe sometime in the small hours where just a skeleton crew performs maintenance tasks on interstellar spacecraft or maybe it's just a last gas type of place on some desolate, off the beaten path moon. Either way, there's not much going on and even the droids are bored. Special thanks to JHoagland for his Astromech Droids and as always, thanks for all the great comments.

Cool environment, but I think I'm missing some of the detail due to the darkness. Would love to see it a bit lighter. Turan

Did you model and build this hangar? If so- man that is very, very cool! If not, still a great job on the rendering and lighting. I like the dim atmosphere and details selectively chosen by lighting, also the steam effects and ambiance.

Thanks to everyone for your comments... To answer your question jdehaven, yes, I built and textured the main hangar structure, though I cheaped out when it came to the far side and used a few copies of Stonemason's Urban Future to fill in the distant detail. Most all of the hangar was built right in Vue using primitives and text objects with a few detail parts being made in Modo. Also, the ship in the center is actually Thor Danielson's Odin model, so thanks (again) to him for his great freebies.

Lol, "urban future in the background". I didn't notice but, yes, there it is. Well, all my attention was really only as far back as the mid-ground and the welders. And then back to what I interpreted as a somewhat randy fem-bot. Of course, I realize that's mostly in my head but the pose does seem a bit erotic. Another fine complete scene that invokes all its own sound effects.
