Description
I uploaded a version of this image quite some time ago. A short time after that, this image was rendered for me on Deep by Buzzz to be entered into a contest. Just so you all know, the planet is mine; but the starfield, a minor sunlight change (in the color), and general scene composition are Buzzz's ideas.

I love that look of ash on the sunside. It reminds me of flash photos of burning embers. Very realistic.
