Description

Surprise! Another White Sands Shot. The lone figure is another one of my class members scouting out a location to shoot. He gives us a little perspective of how vast this place is. Believe it or not, we didn't get rained on. If you ever visit the southwest, make White Sands one of your destinations. Bring your saucer sled, because you can slide down the slopes, just like in the snow. I hope everyone is off to a good fall...errrr, I mean autumn..he he

Awesome sky to go with the white sand. I almost wish I could see a UFO coming out of it.....Another great capture. Aloha

I also like that contrast between the sky and the sand. It certainly looks to be a huge area and a great place to visit.

I think this image is too awesome to be surrounded by that gaudy frame. Please consider removing it. The feeling of expanse by placing the lonely person is brilliant. The contrast of the angry sky with the white sands is striking. This photo is something else. Excellent work.

I too, like the contrast of the sand and the sky...xlt work. I agree that the frame does detract from this image.

I have no problem with the frame. I just think people here are thinking this shot is so wonderful it needs no embellishment. And it is truly wonderful. It looks like the arctic! I would've thought this was taken on a north pole expedition. What a cool shot, Ray! Boy oh boy, that was one prolific day for you. Thanks for sharing all these wonderful images with us. Each one is a treat. Have a great Sunday, my friend. -M 8^)

an amazing shot, the figure looks like he has landed on another world. (but that frame is baaaad - as in the opposite of good).

Fantastic shot! I like that you captured your fellow student -- what a perspective of how big that place is! Beautiful sky, too! :^)

The resemblance to snow is uncanny. Great sense of scale and tumultuous sky in this one.
