Description

This image was actually inspired by a real event. I used to belong to an archery club and one day I was working on the range and a good friend stopped to chat. We were standing on a dirt road talking when out of weeds came a beautiful chocolate brown weasel. It walked right up to us and when hewas about a foot from our feet my friend bent down, extended his hand and said "hi baby" in a soft voice. The weasel noticably surprised took a couple steps back and stopped. He stood there for about a minute just looking at us. Then he just walked calmly away to the other side of the road and disappeared into the bresh. The next time I went to work on in the same place I brought my youngest son and we discovered their nest right behind the target (not very smart weasels lol) and they had 3 babies. We would clap and the babies would dart in and out of the hole in the side of the hill. It had become a great game and they played for a half hour like this. I have never seen them again. This is soooo sweet! I love the composition and the relaxed state of the characters. We have lots of bunnies where I live but I've never had this happen. Although I had a hawk follow me once. I saw it in a distant tree just staring at me and then it swooped down and flew across the field, landing right above me where it just watched over me. It was really cool! I like the innocense of this. Very nice. :)

What a delightful image and story...it brings to mind something that happened on Easter Day 3 years ago...my son who is 24 years old dressed up as the Easter Bunny at an egg hunt at the church...he was hopping a long with very happy children right at his heels when he hopped and he heard a squeak below him...he looked down and his foot had come down on the back of a baby rabbit in the nest of 4. He didn't want the children to see so he hopped in a different direction, told a member of the church what had happened and the church took the baby rabbit to the vet who was able to save the critter...the church took it back and it became the "moscot" of the church...a little story with a happy ending. Great job on yours...

A wonderful story and a wonderful render :) But it is often deadly for animals to trust humans heh. But those weasels have prolly never experienced the wicked side of people ;)
