Gwen Dorset lived a normal life until the night that aliens abducted her husband Arthur from their bed. She has been coping as best she can, largely unaware of the world shaking events happening around her. Arthur Dorset, after his abduction by the Grey, was transmogrified into the nightmare called Simyan. The progenitor of these events was Hampton Jitney, who has dispatched his button men Mr. One and Two to fetch Gwen Dorset for reasons unknown. Outside the Dorset apartment, an Ultharian soldier watches, and waits. After all, good predators spend most of their time observing prey.
