News from the Fratilana Trench, mentioned by Rita! Another rare find, the beautiful Butterfly Snail. This creature is unusual in the snail family as it not only moves in the traditional way, but its shell assists by fluttering, much like the butterflies on land fly through the air. It lives in the very deep where there is little light, so it has multiple antennae to aid its quest for food. Mother Nature at her finest!
