Description
Last one: This is the complete monument "Mother Earth".
Built in 1912, it is a very expressive piece of art, tombstone of the families Dernen and Wittgenstein.
The scenes shown on the left side are very dramatic, all figures are struggling against "turning to earth again", trying to escape, they obviously do not accept the way that lies in front of them. On the right side, there is a kind of acceptance, silent sorrow.
In the whole, this monument doesn't communicate any kind of comfort or hope; the dissociated face of Mother Earth seems without emotion, just protecting life itself, not the living souls.
