Description
"Anton is killed during a ceremony. The doctor claims it was a heartattack, fulfilling one of several ominous prophesies made by Claire to the bemused townspeople. Then the mayor receives the check for one billion pounds."
"Ironically, the only person who truly grieves Schill's passing is not Schill's wife or one of his children, but Claire Zachanassian herself. The revenge she sought for years was finally fulfilled, but she is left unsatisfied."

this is a truly great series. i think if i ever see the play, i'll find it odd that it doesn't match the images you've posted here. your images show the sterility of spirit, the dark, mad comedy and the dream-like allegory and symbolism all the descriptions of the play illustrate. thanks for the introduction to an intriguing play and an even more intriguing character. if you were to do more of this, might i suggest a scene of claire's past? a part of her lost period (after being shamed out of the town and before returning to Gullen). you could elaborate on your perception of her character outside of just what is literally depicted in the play.

First image in which Claire looks truly fragile. Her expression is so painful. Perhaps first indication that revenge doesnt work? Very touching symmetry between her immediate surrounding and that of the space reserved for Anton's body in the back.

Ah, but to turn back time, and find that peace again, the peace of knowing that the one you love truly loves you. This is an excellent series. :) So much so that I have seriously petitioned the local opera house to consider this for one of the next seasons. :)
