Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Love the POV how the buildings seem to just disappear into the distance... Well done :)

You'd think with all the creativity in California, they could have come up with a few different designs... Excellent composition for this shot!

"Little boxes on the hillside, Little boxes made of ticky-tacky, Little boxes, little boxes, Little boxes, all the same. There's a green one and a pink one And a blue one and a yellow one And they're all made out of ticky-tacky And they all look just the same." -Malvina Reynolds I remember the song well! And this is exactly what the song writer was talking about.

Oh wow - this is one of the things I hate most about California, and it's starting up here now, too! This is a wonderful shot - it perfectly captures the feel of tract homes and developments. Don't even get me started!! I love the perspective here. Great shot!

One thing california is good at is repetition. Whether its good or bad, this state will continue to replicate it until it dies and slow and agonizing death...as I hope these ugly white boxes will soon! I've seen several place like this in The Bay Area. Great shot.

One could easily enter the wrong house by mistake. Interesting capture. Aloha
