Very cool shot and it shows the transition beautifully. What a lovely gnarly old tree. The quotes are appropriate.

Very cool, I had to look .. and then remembered, LOL, only in the south would you see this! Up north, trees tend to keep roots deeply implanted in the earth! Wonderful picture, I'm particularily intrigued by the close up tree trunks and roots.
