Description
This noisy contraption used to be my bread and butter. I was a projectionist for 8 years or so. Now, a merely human presence in the projection room is being outmoded by digital projectors. Oh well.
I went back to my last projectionist job, Piccadilly Cinema in the heart of Perth. My old boss was kind enough to let me run through and take a few shots. More to come after I go back with a tripod.
I wanted to give people the feel of what it was like to be perpetually working in darkness, hence the slightly overexposed shot to get some of the detail here. I think it was "Evan almighty" showing at the time.

This is really impressive, the way you did it (light) reveal the intimity as well as the complexion of this machine and the coloring gives the though of the subject (cinema) Great shot! 5+ FAV

The projectors room is a magical place! I love this capture with all those technical/mechanical details and wonderful strong and subtle lights! It can be used to build up a SF composition!!!
