Description
leaf insect-first time for me to see one in nature and it was dead thanks to a web/spider
common name given to herbivorous insects of leaflike appearance forming a single family in the order Phasmida. Leaf insects are green and have extremely flattened, irregularly shaped bodies, wings, and legs; they are usually about 4 in. (10 cm) long. Their wings often have venation similar to that of the leaves on which they live. The eggs of leaf insects are scattered on the ground and hatch in the spring. The young resemble the adults except for their smaller size and reddish color; shortly after they begin feeding on leaves they turn green. Leaf insects are tropical in distribution. The walking sticks of tropical and temperate climates are members of the same order. Leaf insects are classified in the phylum Arthropoda, class Insecta, order Phasmida.
I think the spider is a Shamrock spider, Araneus trifolium. difference in color but same markings

Excellent macro and as always with your spider captures, I'm glad they are on your side of the moniter. Thanks for the education as well. I see critters like these here in OZ but never knew what they really were (except the spider, looks very much like the one that bit me when I was a kid.) Stunning work as always my friend...

Eat and the world eats with you. Fast and you fast alone. I thought of this comment before I read the caption and studied the photo. Now I am thinking, "If we are what we eat then is this a six legged spider?"
