Description

Captured 8/25/07 during the parade celebrating the 50th birthday anniversary of my city. And, yes, he was waving directly at me in this momentous photograph. How do I know? Because nobody was around or behind me at this portion of the parade. In any event, this is Uncle Sam Jr in long pants. My, what small feet you have, grandpa. It must take some kind of balance and confidence, born of experience, to avoid toppling over, probably getting hurt and embarrassing yourself before thousands of spectators. Like collapsing in sections. I have no idea what he planned to do with the scissors. Maybe cut himself down to size, I don't know. Thanks for dropping by, and ya'll come back now, heah?!

Perhaps a ribbon-cutting ceremony? Maybe he just wanted to run with scissors? Either way, this is a great shot! I'm in awe of the grace it takes to be a stilt-walker. Thanks for sharing this fun image!
