very good rendition of a rare aircraft! I remember reading about them when I was young... seem to recall that one of the British comic magazines (Beano?) had an ongoing series featuring a daring RAF Pilot in his Autogyro.

ah..right around the time Sikorsky was playing around...there were autogyros in the US Marines around the 20s (used them in Nicaragua around the time of Sandino). great work, always glad to see more.

I had a Dinky model of this, though I think it was painted in silver (can the memory reach back that far). Difficult to see why the idea was abandoned for they use less fuel than the modern whirlies. Isn't the main blade powered by the forward movement of the plane. If so, that could be a good reason, for hovering wouldn't be its forte.
