Description

We passed a temple that had throngs of people...so naturally we had to stop and see what was happening. This is a daily occurance for many of the women...after their shopping for items for lunch, they stop to pray and to offer food to the monks. I was surprised to find that in both Burma and Thailand, shopping for meals is done thrice daily, as many have no way in which to preserve food. The temple...a peoples temple...was calm, serene and beautiful. I was fascinated with the comings and goings...as one stood to leave...another took her place. Amazing!

Today, armed trucks with loudspeakers drove through the streets, shouting(to the monks who demonstrated): "We have your pictures! We will get you!" The UN (and the U.S.) should be embarrassed that China (of all nations) may be the first to intervene to restore civil liberty. What a travesty. Thank you for these images. They are great!
