Description
I'm back!
This is but one fourth of our beautiful Town Hall Clock. Rochdale Town Hall opened in 1871 slightly over budget, it was proposed that an amount of £20,000 was set aside to provide a Town Hall. When it was finished it came in at £155,000. At that time it had an 240foot wooden spire, the wooden spire burnt down in 1883 and the Town Hall remained without a spire for 4 years, at which time a new 'stone spire' was designed by the architect Alfred Waterhouse.
Thank for taking time to have a look and for any comments you care to make.
May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are.
Please bear with me people, I have had twelve days away from the computer and have 986 Emails to answer and I don't know how many ebots but I will get round to you as soon as I can.
Happy sunshines to you all.

Nice to see that you are back Jeff with another quality upload. This is an excellent close shot of the clock with great detail. wonderful to see the differing shades of masonry. As you know I have seen the real thing and the building of Rochdale Town Hall was an incredible feat. I sometimes think it looks too magnificent to be in Rochdale.

I am glad Dallas does not put this kind of money into city hall or our taxes would be even higher.most of the money goes in their pocket. several were indicted just Monday for money laundering, kick back, extortion, bribery incredible place for a city office and superb capture
