Description

Another in my Star Vessels series. This ship is inspired by the starships of Chris Foss. I did my first sketch of it as a teenager in the late 1970's. As I had recently read Frank Herbert's SF novel "Dune" when I first drew the ship, I named it a "Heighliner" as an homage to the big interstellar ship mentioned in that book.

Indeed, this illustration is meant to imitate the style used in tech manuals for role playing games. Without a doubt, there is some influence from the original 1970's-1980's version of the Traveller RPG.
