Description

This lock was a part of the gothenburg canal, it is replaced with newer ones today. The canal that was built 1810-1832 stretches some 190 km and has an altitude diffrence of 91.8 m. It is still in use today and offers a slow route from Gothenburg (Swedens westcoast) to the capital city Stockholm (eastcoast). It also allowes acces to Swedens to larger lakes (vÃnnern and VÃttern). The canal has 58 locks. For more info about the canal or how to travel it check out this site: http://www.gotakanal.se/templates/default____5206.aspx Wasn´t sure if I made it clear that the lock still exist today, but is not in use. The image got an Hue/saturation and resize treatment in photoshop but is otherwise as shot.
