Description

This image is the moment where the timelines of the "builder" and the "destroyer" meet. I find rather disturbing when I see children who, when playing, have more fun destroying something than building it. I play a bit with this concept here, joining this with the horror and sadness that those who build feel when their creation is destroyed just for the pleasure of destruction. The "builder" (or artist) is represented by the object that he built, the statue, which was created in a way that antecipated what would come to happen. The inevitable fate of all beautiful things, in a world full of "destroyers". The other statues, already destroyed, are "Crystal Idea" and "Crystal Smile". The three statues stand for the idea that the artist had, the smile of joy that it caused on him and, finally the horror of destruction. Thanks for watching!

Very beautiful scene and story, I share your point of view. Making images, as you are doing, with concept contents is the best that an artist can do, go ahead!

I believe the intersection of creation and destruction is known as “preservation” – an often subtle and fleeting state of existence that few notice passing. Spectacular artistic concept and execution.

Splendid imagery as usual. I very much appreciate the thought which goes into your works. This one is particularly poignant, as I think I was one of those children when I was young.

Unfortunantly we are predisposed to destroy rather than create, your image goes some way of showing the thought patter. excellent mats and lighting.

It is human nature to hold creation and destruction in our hands. I hope we lay down destruction for a while, but it will take something enormous to make us lay it down and not take it back up up. It may not be possible, but we can chose,"Today, I will not destroy." This is a great piece of work and perfectly executed to realize the image.

Its a really powerful and somewhat disturbing (which is always good) image. Its even more startling because it challenges the standard concept of boys being little rascals and girls being 'sweet and innocent'. The POV and the poses enhance the drama, and I love the 'glass' material.

I like when pictures really makes you think and feel something. When you, after seeing a picture, starts to remember things etc. This picture accomplishes that, and that is quite a rare thing. Excellent work!

As usual, the attention to detail is amazing, with even a chuck taken out of the "Crystal Smile" pedestal. This is one of my favorites of yours.

Great job with all the fragments of the statures. that must have taken for ever to do. I also like the surrounsings, it seems to be on a disk in the middle of the darkness. This is a solid piece of work here.
