Description

I have kind of got stuck with this char. I want it to look something like the sketch, but the model is to "hard". It is made of a single poly that is extruded then split up. I wanted that kind of nice mesh you see on the pros where all lines follow the facical muscles. Problem -If I make it a sub I can no longer texture or animate it very good. -If I go smooth I loose all shape. Anyway to save this mesh, or is it a lost cause due to the fact I choose the wrong modeleing way? Any comments welcome (am a happy amatour)

Well, seems you havent got a constructive answer... Regarding it, I dont knwo Maya, but maybe "applying" (i.e. "freezing") your subdivision could do the work? Or maybe the model needs being converted into triangles? ...or maybe just subdivide it and rebuild the shape when keeping subdivided? Sorry if I pile rubbish in this thread, these are just some suggestions coming from what I read - I haven`t animated an organic creature yet.

Thanks for the comment. I got tired of the mesh so I have started a patch head with NURBS instead.
